Banksia Ikebana - Classic 10 x 12"
Limited Edition Cancer Council Rally Print.
Photographer Laura May Grogan is joining her Dad, Laurie on a 3,600km Charity Rally from Wollongong to Mackay in May 2022.
The flowers arranged in this image are from along that route in North East Australia;
Banksia Intergriolia Pods
All sourced seasonally and sustainably through Carlton North's Bush Flowers & Plants, supporting independent flower growers.
A bouquet of flowers has always stood as an object for celebration or commemoration. This simple ikebana styled bouquet exists as both; to commemorate all of those whose lives have been lost or touched by cancer, and to celebrate the lands this rally will pass through; Tharawal, Wiradjuri, Kamilaroi, Wongaibon, Kuughari & Yumi.
Over the years, Laurie has raised over $60,000 for the Cancer Council through his participation in the Shitbox Rally. 100% of the profits from these prints will be donated to the Acorn&Oak Shitbox Team's Cancer Council Appeal, adding to the already $1.7mil raised by this year's rally. The over 500 teams that will pass through these rural towns, insert approximately $85,000 daily into their economies. Many of these places have little to no revenue generated by tourism, and this year, have been effected by the devastating floods.
